“Mexico will continue to pay a 25% Fentanyl Tariff, 25% Tariff on Cars, and 50% Tariff on Steel, Aluminum, and Copper. Additionally, Mexico has agreed to immediately terminate its Non Tariff Trade Barriers, of which there were many,” Trump wrote. He did not provide specifics.

Aiming to rewire the global trading system to more explicitly benefit the United States, President Trump gave countries around the world until August 1 to negotiate new trade agreements with the world’s leading consumer nation.

P resident Donald Trump announced Thursday the U.S. will give Mexico 90 more days to negotiate a trade deal. In the meantime, the United States’s tariffs on Mexico will remain at 25 percent.
