Trump’s costly tax bill will turn investors away from America. President Donald Trump’s tax and spending package, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, is nothing to celebrate and will drive investors away from America if it passes.
Assuming the level of net migration is now halved compared with that projection, future growth in labour supply and consumption demand will be lost. Relative to the previously faster migration assumptions, this represents another stagflationary hit to the US economy, although its size in any one year is relatively small.
