According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the shooting happened around 8:45 a.m. on Highland Road near Lee Drive. Police at the scene said a female suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died at a hospital. They added that a male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to survive.
