Texas Democratic lawmakers were evacuated from a Chicago area hotel after a bomb threat amid a standoff over a controversial redistricting plan.

Independent redistricting commissions, which are largely backed by Democrats to prevent gerrymandering, drew 95 congressional seats that would have been otherwise drawn by Democrats, versus 13 that would have been drawn by Republicans.
