The Smithsonian said that it would update an exhibit at the National Museum of American History to reflect all impeachment proceedings in U.S. history after a placard was removed last month.

The Smithsonian clarified on Aug. 2 that aesthetic reasons were behind the removal of a placard with references to Trump in an impeachment display.

The Smithsonian removed references to President Trump's two impeachments from an exhibit on "Limits of Presidential Power," a Smithsonian spokesperson confirmed.
