The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Saturday evening shooting near Wendell that killed a 38-year-old man.

According to a news release, Shawn Rouse, 38, was found around 6 p.m. fatally shot in a vehicle in the 6200 block of Stag Trail. Rouse was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
