The giant planet, named TOI-6894b, was spotted using NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, or TESS. The work was led by Dr Edward Bryant of UCL’s Mullard Space Science Laboratory. His team was searching for big planets around small stars.

PARIS: Astronomers announced on Wednesday they have discovered a massive planet orbiting a tiny star, a bizarre pairing that has stumped scientists. Most of the stars across the Milky Way are small red dwarfs like TOI-6894, which has only 20 per cent the mass of our Sun.
