A local organization is coming together to protest against President Donald Trump and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests in downtown San Antonio on Saturday.

SAN ANTONIO — Hundreds of protesters gathered in downtown San Antonio on Thursday night to voice their opposition to increased ICE operations under the Trump administration.

On Sunday, about 300 people in San Antonio protested ICE deportations and court arrests, marching downtown. Many are calling on others to stand up against President Trump's immigration policies.

Hundreds gathered in downtown San Antonio on Wednesday night to protest the continued U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations of undocumented immigrants.

Sheriff Salazar, who last summer criticized Donald Trump on the DNC stage, shared a message for those planning to protest ICE in Bexar County.

The mayor and the police chief said the governor did not notify them of the military deployment. They also have no details about the soldiers’ mission. They said the city is prepared to oversee peaceful demonstrations at the Alamo tonight and at Travis Park on Saturday.

The protests in Texas followed days of unrest in Los Angeles, where President Donald Trump sent National Guard troops in response to demonstrations.
