Samsung's One UI 8 beta program is now open for users on Galaxy S25 devices. The new beta brings Android 16 to Samsung devices for the first time, along with improvements to Samsung features like the Now Bar and Secure Folder.
The new One UI 8 software will debut on Samsung's newest foldables this summer, but you can give it a whirl now with some S25 devices.

After One UI 7 suffered a bunch of serious delays, it's nice to see that One UI 8 seems to be back to a normal schedule. And now that the first beta version of the upgrade is rolling out, we're learning about all the extra features Samsung has added — including some key upgrades for the Secure Folder.
Android 16 QPR1 introduced a massive design language change called Material 3 Expressive. This adjustment affects the base set of assets Google makes available to developers. That affects how Quick Settings tiles are designed, lock screen elements, and so much more. In essence, that shift has altereted the entire look of Android, for the better.
As highlighted by the One UI 8 changelog (via Android Authority ), those running the new beta can now use an extreme 90:10 split screen view. The ratio essentially allows one app to dominate 90 percent of your phone's display, with a different app relegated to cover only the remaining 10 percent.
