Shortly after his wife's passing, John Bromley allegedly tried to gain access to the morgue by posing as a trooper.

Before she died, the wife was observed with “extensive bruising” and was having having “difficulty breathing,” authorities say.

John D. Bromley allegedly impersonated a trooper to sneak into a Michigan morgue and see the body of his wife, who he's accused of abusing.

The bizarre case started when police got a report of two people squatting, leading to suspicions of domestic violence. A lengthy investigation started shortly after the woman died and her husband tried entering the morgue where she was taken.

Michigan police say a 74-year-old man accused of abusing his wife before her death impersonated an officer to access her body, leading to his arrest on multiple charges.
