The Metro station at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street will connect to the K Line and C Line. Starting next year, travelers will be able to use the automated people mover train to and from LAX and the center.

In the words of L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, today marks the “beginning of a new era in our city.” And to celebrate the big opening, rides across the entire Metro system—rail lines, buses, Metro Bike Share and rideshare service Metro Micro—are free from Friday through Sunday.

It’s a major cog in the mass transit connection to LAX. It is a train station opening on Friday that will be the closest to the airport and soon will connect to a people mover.
