The 96th annual Texas FFA State Convention was scheduled to start in Houston on July 8, the same day Hurricane Beryl knocked out power for millions.

The original proposal included a chance for an arena, convention center, spas, retail stores, restaurants and more, located near the former site of Texas Stadium.
