Tropical Storm Dexter, the fourth named system of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, formed late Sunday night well east of North Carolina. The system is now moving away from the U.S. East Coast, posing no land threat, but it signals a shift toward more frequent tropical development in the Atlantic.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two disturbances in the Atlantic that could ultimately become hurricanes, one currently just a few hundred miles off the coast of Georgia and South Carolina.
