Dr Kizza Besigye has called off his hunger strike after the transfer of his charges from the military court to a civilian court. He was this morning charged with treason and misprision of treason at Nakawa court.

After more than seven days of refusing to eat and surviving only on water in protest against what he termed as illegal detention, Rtd Col Dr Kizza Besigye has ended his hunger strike, according to his lawyers.
