Officials are investigating the death of a 9-year-old girl, who was intentionally left alone in a hot car while her mom was at work.

This marks the third hot car death in Texas in just four days. Since 1990, at least 166 children have died in hot cars across the state, including 33 in Harris County, according to Kids and Car Safety. Rollins says these tragedies go beyond momentary decisions — they point to a lack of support systems for working families.
