Canada’s Summer McIntosh continued her push to become the first woman to ever win five gold medals in a single swimming world championships after dominating the 200-meter butterfly Thursday in Singapore. It was McIntosh’s third gold of the week. Her 2:01.99 was the second-fastest women’s 200 butterfly ever and set a Canadian record.

Canadian swimming sensation Summer McIntosh won her third gold medal of the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore but fell agonizingly short of breaking the 200-meter butterfly world record.

Summer McIntosh came within a whisker of breaking a long-standing world record and Leon Marchand failed to improve on a new mark he set just a night earlier, but both young guns won gold medals at the world championships in Singapore on Thursday.
