A wildfire that ignited near Fredericksburg on Saturday, which could be seen as far as Austin, is still less than 50-percent contained. The Crabapple Fire has put most parts of Central and South Texas under a "Red Flag Warning" as strong gusts of wind move throughout the region,

A Gillespie County wildfire, named the Crabapple fire, prompted evacuations as it reached more than 8,600 acres Saturday night, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

The 8,640-acre Crabapple fire near Fredericksburg, about an hour away from San Antonio, is now 40% contained, according to the officials.
