Yellow weather warnings remain in place for parts of the UK with thunderstorms threatening to bring flooding and disruption for the remainder of the weekend.

The 30-day special session of the Texas Legislature is set to begin Monday, July 21. The agenda includes 18 legislative priorities determined by Gov. Greg Abbott.Several of the priorities listed address the recent devastating floods in Central Texas.

On Saturday at 10:25 p.m. the NWS Raleigh NC released a flood advisory in effect until Sunday at 12:30 a.m. The advisory is for Johnston, Wayne and Wilson counties.

Less than 5% of homes in the county's FEMA floodplain had flood coverage, well below the national average. Uptake was even worse in other areas that flooded.

Heavy rainfall at Wetheral, near Carlisle, on Saturday saw staff at the Oak Tree Animals' Charity rush to clear kennels and the cattery. Though no pets were harmed, bedding, equipment and food has been lost.

More than five inches fell in some suburbs of the capital. The authorities in Maryland rescued dozens of people, including some who were stranded in their cars.
