FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Timeline for snow Tuesday
The FOX19 NOW Weather Team has declared Tuesday a First Alert Weather Day due to winter weather that will impact driving. A system will move into the Ohio Valley late Monday night into Tuesday and may bring some light snow showers before daybreak Tuesday for areas south of the Ohio River in Northern Kentucky.
First Alert Weather Days issued for Tue-Wed winter storm
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 6 am Tuesday until noon Wednesday. We’ve issued a First Alert Weather Day for Tuesday and Wednesday. Snow overspreads the area before daybreak Tuesday then gradually increases in intensity and coverage throughout the morning.

A First Alert Weather Day on Saturday as the snow falls through the morning into the afternoon, with pockets of moderate to heavy snow at times. Travel with will be hazardous for much of Saturday, with some improvement after the snow ends Saturday night. Temperatures on Saturday will top out in the low to mid 20s.

The KOTA First Alert Weather Team continues to monitor a First Alert Weather Day for Tuesday. As we track a trough of low pressure moving into the region from Monday to Tuesday, colder air will not only filter in but a significant pressure difference between the cold high developing behind it and the departing low will create gusts of 20 to over 30 miles per hour.

Saturday morning begins overcast and dry with seasonably cold conditions across the region. High pressure is in place to our northeast and is slowly retreating to the east ahead of an approaching area of low pressure from the southwest that will bring widespread precipitation to all of Western Pennsylvania beginning this afternoon and lasting until after midnight.

It is a First Alert Weather Day today as we focus on flooding concerns and rain continues. A stormy overnight has carried into our daytime hours, with scattered showers persisting to the afternoon. Grab the umbrella as you head out the door - we will see a break in activity in the early afternoon but then around dinnertime one strong band of thunderstorms will roll across the region - with stronger winds and a little bit of potential for thunder.
