Doug Lane's wife, Christine, and their 16-year-old son, Spencer, were among those who died in the crash. Spencer was one of six members of the Skating Club of Boston aboard the plane.

The tribute show "Legacy on Ice" will feature dozens of the most well-known faces in American figure skating, from Peggy Fleming to Nathan Chen.

Nathan Chen, Nancy Kerrigan and Peggy Fleming are among the figure skaters added to the cast of a benefit event this weekend in Washington, D.C., for victims of the midair collision and crash outside Ronald Reagan International Airport.

On Jan. 29, American Airlines flight 5342 collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport. The accident was the worst aviation accident in the U.S. since 2001. Of the dozens of victims, 28 people were from the skating community.

The Legacy on Ice event at Capital One Arena on Sunday will recognize the skaters, coaches and parents who died in the January crash while raising money for first responders and the affected families.

It has been a month since the mid-air collision over the Potomac River killed 67 people and this Sunday, the community will honor the lives lost with a ‘Legacy on Ice’ tribute at Capital One Arena.
