COVINGTON, Va. (WDBJ) - Covington Middle School will remain closed Tuesday, February 4, while Alleghany Highlands school officials continue to address safety concerns in the kitchen of the cafeteria.

Students at Covington, 3700 Convict Hill Road, also evacuated the school about 9:10 a.m. Thursday when a fire alarm activated, according to a previous letter sent to families from Maddox.
