Coach Kelly Inouye-Perez has long talked about “Bruin magic.” And on the path to its eventual Women’s College World Series exit, No. 9 seed UCLA made its fair share of clutch moves when it mattered most.

UCLA softball dropped to the loser's bracket of the 2025 Women's College World Series after a narrow 3-1 loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday night.

Then, they beat four-time defending champions Oklahoma 4-2 to advance in the tournament. Texas moves deeper into the winners' bracket while OU will play Oregon, which was also upset Saturday.
