Senior U.S. and Chinese negotiators meet in Stockholm on Monday to tackle longstanding economic disputes at the centre of a trade war between the world's top two economies, aiming to extend a truce keeping sharply higher tariffs at bay.

The US and China are expected to extend their tariff truce by 90 days during trade talks in Stockholm starting Monday.

Trump, has pushed for tougher trade rules on China and imposed a 20% tariff in March over the fentanyl crisis, accusing Beijing of not doing enough to stop the flow of the drug into the United States.
