With migrant communities already living in fear amid the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, ICE raids in downtown Los Angeles sparked days of protests.
With protests blanketing the United States over the immigration crackdown — which is to say nothing of “No Kings Day” on Saturday — boxer Ryan Garcia couldn’t sit back anymore as Los Angeles, his home, has been wracked with ICE raids, protests and upheaval.
The nationwide “No Kings” protest is scheduled for Anaheim’s La Palma Park at 4 p.m. today following a series of rolling protests against ICE sweeps throughout OC this week – especially in Santa Ana.
The area protests drew many people, of varying ages with an array of concerns. But a common thread was concern over policies of the Trump administration, such as recent immigration crackdowns.
Riots in Los Angeles resulted in 10 deputies being injured by rocks, Molotov cocktails and pyrotechnics as law enforcement prepares for planned nationwide protests Saturday.
Protests over President Trump's immigration enforcement raids and his mobilization of the Marines and National Guard in Los Angeles have spread to other major U.S. cities.
