The Minnesota Twins have kept All-Star center fielder Byron Buxton out of Thursday's starting lineup due to a bruised left hand.

The Twins won a game Wednesday night but lost All-Star center fielder Byron Buxton for the last seven innings of a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs at Target Field.

The stage is set for a fun Friday night at Target Field featuring Ryan vs. fellow All-Star Paul Skenes and a postgame concert.

The Minnesota Twins' Byron Buxton suffered an injury scare in their game against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday.

Buxton will look to become the second Twins player to win the Home Run Derby, and he'll do it in his home state.

Initial X-rays were negative, but the injury takes place five days before Buxton's scheduled to compete in the Home Run Derby.

There is no doubt that Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan should be an All-Star Game participant. After his outing against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday he owns a 2.76 ERA on the season and has proven to be amongst the best starting pitchers in baseball.
