Fentanyl combined with a sedative are believed to have caused last week’s mass overdose in Baltimore’s Penn North neighborhood, federal scientists said.

Five people were arrested on drug charges near the scene of a mass overdose in Baltimore that sent at least 27 people to the hospital, according to police.

Police and fire responded to a neighborhood "in reference to multiple individuals experiencing overdose symptoms".
