Gold went the way of Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) despite a dramatic opening half a lap, but it was intense – and tense – behind as the Championship leader claimed his seventh Sprint victory of the season at Aragon.

Older brother Alex finished the session in second, having held pole after a mistake from Marc on his second lap caused the factory Ducati rider to lose valuable time. The top three were completed by Franco Morbidelli, who put in a quick lap right at the end of the session to jump up the order.

Ducati's world championship leader Marc Marquez recovered from a poor start to win Saturday's sprint at the Aragon Grand Prix ahead of his brother Alex and Fermin Aldeguer of Gresini Racing for an all-Spanish podium on home soil.
