Amazon is set to combine its Wondery podcast network with Audible in a new restructure that will also see 110 Wondery staff laid off. The move signals a significant shift in Amazon’s podcast strategy—with podcasts rolled into its Audible offering.

Wondery’s audio-only podcasts — such as the true-crime hits “Dr. Death” and “Dirty John” — will be now be overseen by Audible, the audiobook arm of Amazon, and earn money primarily through subscriptions.

Four years after Amazon’s acquisition of podcast network Wondery, the tech giant is dismantling its $300 million purchase and reorganizing various audio properties into separate teams at the company. As first reported by Bloomberg, this reorg will see the studio lose about 110 employees, and CEO Jen Sargent is departing the company.
