The American Athletic Conference is taking its postseason basketball tournaments to two new venues for the league after a five-year run in Texas. The AAC announced Friday that both men's and women's tournaments will be played next year at Legacy Arena in Birmingham,
The announcement makes Birmingham the second city in Alabama to host Division I championship tournaments, with Huntsville hosting the Conference USA tournaments at Propst Arena.
The AAC men's and women's basketball tournaments will move to Birmingham, Alabama, in 2026, the league announced May 30. Both tournaments will be played at Legacy Arena. The AAC also announced the men's and women's tournaments will be played in Tampa, Florida, in 2027 and 2028 at the Yuengling Center.
