Monday will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Winds will continue to be gusty from the northwest reaching 30 mph at times. Due to the northwest winds at the surface and aloft, wildfire smoke may return to the metro. This could affect air quality and create hazy skies on Monday.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires is leading to very unhealthy air quality for much of Michigan, including all of Southeast Michigan. An air quality alert is in effect for all of Southeast Michigan until noon on Friday.

Some areas may only see a few hours of alert-level smoke concentrations due to the relatively fast movement of the north-south band of smoke.
