Lambda Legal, and the Tennessee Equality Project expressed strong disagreement with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to uphold Tennessee's ban on transgender medical care for minors.

The ruling determined that the type of ban does not require the high level of scrutiny used to determine other types of discrimination, such as in the workplace.

The Supreme Court ruled that Tennessee's law restricting gender-affirming care for transgender youth does not violate the 14th Amendment.
