Ozzy Osbourne, the storied Black Sabbath lead singer known as much for his excesses and bizarre onstage antics as his pioneering heavy metal music, has died in London.

Fans, musicians and former bandmates have paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, the frontman of pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath, who has died aged 76.

Osbourne is often referred to as the Godfather of Heavy Metal, although he preferred the nickname the Prince of Darkness, which he used on social media.
