Louisville’s Tyler Shough became the third quarterback taken in the 2025 NFL Draft when the Saints picked him with the 40th overall selection — with Shedeur Sanders getting passed over once again. The Saints were expected to take a quarterback at some point during the draft, and were viewed as a possible landing spots for Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders, the most talked-about player in this year's draft, was finally selected in the fifth round after his unprecedented fall. The Browns drafted the Colorado quarterback with the No. 144 pick.
