The Towns of Dyer and St. John have fired back at Schererville for drowning them out of the Tri-Town Safety Village, giving it until next week to come around before taking further action.

Arriva North East said a central refuge used to exit the village westbound onto the A174 was not big enough for its buses to use without overhanging into the busy carriageway.

Schererville, Dyer and St. John have shared control of the Tri-Town Safety Village for over a decade, but the arrangement could be at an end.
