The city of Knoxville voted Sept. 5 to accept $20 million in state funds toward a pedestrian bridge connecting the University of Tennessee at Knoxville campus to the South Waterfront.

Starting in early 2024, public engagement and stakeholder input will guide the development of a master plan for the bridge that aligns with the South Waterfront Vision Plan, according to the release.
