A powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Russia's Far East is sending tsunami waves to Hawaii, Alaska, California and Oregon.

OLYMPIA — Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) shellfish managers confirmed seven days of razor clam digs on coastal beaches beginning Saturday, April 12.

The list featured beaches from six continents, including a half dozen spots in North America, but only one U.S. beach made the list: Ruby Beach in Washington’s Olympic National Park.

Certain other states fared worse than Washington in the report. In Alabama, for instance, 96% of tested beaches counted potentially unsafe fecal contamination levels at least once last year.
