The Mount St. Helens Visitor Center in Castle Rock will reopen on May 31. The center just finished its first major renovation since it opened in 1986. The project began in September 2024.

The Mount St. Helens Visitor Center at Silver Lake celebrated its reopening to the public May 31, 2025. It had been closed for 8 months to undergo renovations.

The center is located in Bldg. 69012 and can be reached at 254-287-9909. Visitors will undergo a background check and, if approved, may proceed to a gate or kiosk for pass issuance.
