Fairhaven police said a resident being evicted asked to surrender "a few dogs." It turned out there were 15. Twelve of the dogs are puppies. They'll be fostered and then put up for adoption.

Previously, a dog named Mercedes was the shelter's longest resident, the post read. She was adopted in 2012 after spending three years, 11 months and six days at Woodford Humane Society.
