Historical Jonesboro/Clayton County will hold a groundbreaking at 4:15 p.m. Monday for a Victorian period garden near Stately Oaks, an antebellum home the historical society operates in Jonesboro.

The idea to promote the historical society by holding a Victorian-style fashion show was conceived when Pierce saw a show presented by the Victorian Lady at South Main Baptist Church.

On Sunday, Kate Martin will explain characteristics of “Victorian Domestic Architecture” in a program that begins at 2 p.m. at the Victorian House Museum, 308 W. Third St., Cedar Falls.

Part of that collection is currently on display at the Walnut Creek Historical Society’s exhibit section, on the second floor of the Walnut Creek Library, through Jan. 15.
