Los Angeles County officials and members from the Marine Mammal Care Center celebrated the end of the longest toxic domoic acid outbreak with the release of sea lion pups back into safer ocean waters.

A group of seal lion pups rescued at the height of the toxic algae bloom that plagued the Southern California coast have been released back into the ocean. Rick Montanez reports.

Veterinarians in Venice, California released 4 sea lion pups back into the ocean on June 4 after announcing the end of this year's toxic algae blooms. Animal welfare groups in the region were overwhelmed by thousands of cases of sickened marine life over a record 14 weeks.
