He went 31-8 in his career with South Carolina, including a 15-3 record in 2003. Marchbanks was an All-American in 2003 and helped lead South Carolina to the College World Series in 2002 and 2003.

Powell was inducted into the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014. He’s been the head baseball coach at North Greenville University since 2014 and won a national title there in 2022.
