SPOKANE, Wash. — UCLA has won 124 national championships in school history. The women’s basketball team comes into its home gym of Pauley Pavilion and sees banners for 11 men’s basketball titles, nine gymnastics championships and 25 national titles for volleyball.

NCAA Women's Tournament continued with the final round of the Sweet 16 on Saturday. On Friday, UCLA, South Carolina, LSU and Duke all advanced to the Elite Eight. On Saturday, TCU, Texas, UConn and USC joined them.

The Duke Blue Devils battle the defending national champion University of South Carolina Gamecocks in the Elite 8 of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in Birmingham. South Carolina leads 26-22 at the half after a strong run by Duke late in the second quarter.

The Gamecocks will play either Texas or TCU on Friday. They are two wins away from a second straight national championship.

The UConn women’s basketball team took down Oklahoma in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament, winning 82-59. Star guard Paige Bueckers led the way for the Huskies 40 points. UConn will face the winner of Kansas St.

Behind a historic performance from Paige Bueckers, UConn women’s basketball surged past the 3-seed Oklahoma Sooners 82-59 in Spokane to advance to the Elite Eight. Bueckers exploded for 40 points — the most by a Husky in the NCAA Tournament and the first to hit that mark since Katie Lou Samuelson in the 2017 AAC Tournament.

UConn is outscoring opponents by 126 points through three rounds of the Big Dance, and it all starts with Bueckers. Bueckers scored 11 points in the first quarter, and although it was early it seemed the Huskies were getting ready to run away with it.

Paige Bueckers wanted to spread the spotlight around after UConn advanced to the Elite Eight of the 2025. UConn cruised to an 82-59 victory over Oklahoma in the Sweet Sixteen and Bueckers had a 40-point outburst in the win.
