The Kemp’s ridley is the National Aquarium’s newest ambassador for its Animal Rescue program and the first to be housed in the Atlantic Coral Reef exhibit in nearly 20 years.

Gabriel Guzman, 33, snapped the unlikely picture while diving in Saxon Reef, an area of the Great Barrier Reef which is well known for its turtle populations.

The male sea turtle, which weighs approximately 62 pounds, was flown to the aquarium by jet and will soon make the Atlantic Coral Reef exhibit its forever home.
