Trevor Zegras has been traded from the Anaheim Ducks to the Philadelphia Flyers for Ryan Poehling, the 2025 45th overall pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick.

On Monday, the Anaheim Ducks traded Trevor Zegras to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Ryan Pohling, a 2025 second-round pick (45th overall), and a 2026 fourth-round pick.

Zegras — who can inspire and infuriate — made you talk about him. Meanwhile, the Ducks jerseys flew off the shelves. He was on the cover of EA Sports’ NHL 23.

Zegras, the runner-up for the 2022 Calder Trophy, was pawned off on the Philadelphia Flyers for a fourth-line center and two draft picks, neither of which is in the first round.

Meanwhile, with Brink on the ice without Cates, the Flyers had just 34.2% of the goals for, 44.5% of the scoring chances for, 49.1% of the high-danger chances, and were outscored, 25-13.

The Flyers pulled off a big-time deal Monday, acquiring Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Ryan Poehling, the 45th pick in this year’s draft, and a fourth-round pick next season.

Zegras also said he's excited to be reunited with defenseman Jamie Drysdale, his teammate in Anaheim for four seasons before Drysdale was traded to the Flyers on Jan. 8, 2024.

The Flyers need a top-line center. Zegras needs a fresh start. Monday's trade with Anaheim is a relatively low-cost gamble, but one that could pay off big.
