Located about 100 miles south of St. Louis and 36 miles south of Chester, Illinois, Tower Rock is an enormous rock formation in the middle of the Mississippi River, just off the Missouri bank.

Mississippi River levels at Chester, Illinois, dipped below 1.5 feet early Sunday morning, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Water Prediction Service.
