The search for a missing 64-year-old man was suspended Thursday because of unsafe conditions after a huge mass of rock and ice from a glacier crashed down a Swiss mountainside the day before.

Video shows a glacier in the Swiss Alps partially collapsing, causing ice, mud and rocks to bury part of a mountain village that was evacuated earlier this month.

Experts were concerned that the debris was blocking a nearby river, causing a new lake to form and posing a flood risk on top of the rest of the devastation.
