Videos have captured the collapse of a swimming pier in Lake Mendota, Wisconsin, on Labor Day, sending students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison into the water.

The Seal Beach Pier has been temporarily closed to the public until further notice due to damage sustained Thursday night during high surf and windy conditions, police officials reported Friday.
