That drive-thru experience is about to get a makeover. RBI announced Tuesday that it plans to modernize more than 10,000 of its restaurant drive-thrus, 2,700 of which are at Tim Hortons locations.

Restaurant Brands executives credited new menu items like Burger King's A1 ultimate bacon cheeseburger and Tim Horton's dark roast blend coffee for helping drive sales gains in the quarter.

Tim Hortons and Cold Stone Creamery, a division of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Kahala Corp., have developed more than 130 co-branded locations in Canada, as well as additional units in the United States.

The Tim Hortons at 7377 N. Crescent Blvd. is offering a free beverage once a week for a year for the first 50 drive-thru guests.

Fans of the Tim Hortons can expect dine-in seating for up to 100 guests and a drive-thru for those on-the-go, as well as a number of delivery options.
