Robert Riggs and his son Brent caught a state-record tiger trout while fishing Mannington Lake in West Virginia in late March. The fish weighed more than 12 pounds and replaced a record set in 2024.

The fish eclipsed the standing record for a tiger trout caught by Nathaniel Smith at New Creek Lake which was 11.98 pounds. Robert’s fish however came up short of the length record.
