St. Catherine of Siena Church is located at 845 W. Main St. in West Dundee. St. Mary Church is located at Matteson Street and Galligan Road in Gilberts.

In 1377 St. Catherine established a convent outside of Siena. This saint is credited with writing over 400 letters, the Dialogue and her prayers.
